Here we go again!!!
For all us kiwi's we pretty much know the drill............Party in honour of the document( known as the 'treaty') that was signed way back when!
Waitangi Day celebrations are bigger overseas than in Aotearoa...
For those of you that dont know too much about Waitangi Day, but love hanging out with kiwis or want to be a kiwi, here is the Wikipedia definition below:
...Waitangi Day commemorates a significant day in the history of New Zealand. It is a public holiday held each year on the 6th of February to celebrate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, NEW ZEALAND'S founding document, on that date in 1840.
So...for the second time in Vancouver and to carry on the tradition for all of us here in B.C. as expats, traveller's and homesick kiwis...it is an act of patriotism, friendship and one big party for NZ...this has got to be done..AGAIN, only this party will be even 'choicer' than the one before!
The day falls on a Saturday and will coincide with Waitangi Day back in NZ!
