Important Event Details and Special Icebreaker Event Deals!

And there are 4 days to go!!!  Everything is ready to go for this weekend and everyone involved with putting this bad boy together is pretty excited to put it lightly!

So here are some important details that you should know before coming on Saturday...

The event will officially open with a Powhiri from the Kapa Haka group at 11.30am.  During this time there will be no drinks served by the bar and we ask for you all to be respectful while this is happening.  It is a privilege to have this happening at the event and we are really grateful to the group.
Following that we will have some words from the NZ Consulate and once again we ask you to be respectful while our officials are speaking.  It's just for a few minutes so please try and hold off the banter with your mate until after this has all gone down.  Its all good stuff for the event and once again we feel lucky to have the support we do from the Kiwi community!

Now we have a TON of prizes from our sponsors to give away on the day, but like any prize draw you have to be in to win!  So we will have our team walking around throughout the day selling raffle tickets in lots of 10.  10 tickets for $10 with all of the money raised going to Kiwis for Kiwi...So bring some cash and get amongst it!

We will also have our super sweet Icebreaker event tee's for sale on the day.  Guys tees are $35 and Girls Tanks are $30.  Both have the official event Logo that Jake Hope put together for us (Cheers Jake!) with the  logo on the front of the guys and funkily placed on the hip of the chicks.  Numbers are LIMITED so if you want one, best to get there early and secure your size and ensure you don't go home without one.

On the Icebreaker note we have a great deal from Icebreaker for all our Waitangi Day friends.
Icebreaker are offering everyone an additional 10% off any online purchases from their website (including already discounted stuff) and will donate a further 10% of the purchase price to Kiwis for Kiwi!

The deal will go from Feb 1st to Feb 15th so get online, enter the code WAITANGI, save yourself some money and IB will donate more to our great charity...Cheers Icebreaker!  Icebreaker Online

We will have a few more updates coming over the next couple of days so keep an eye out and get your party pants ready!

Cheers!

The Mad Butcher goes the extra mile!

We got this pic of Brent from the Mad Butcher out in Abbotsford today.  He and his wife personally made 40kg of sausages for the sausage sizzle at Waitangi Day...Absolute legend!

He is also supplying the pig and the spit for the day as well as another pig for Superbowl at Library Square the following day!  Add on the awesome meat packs for the raffles and we are developing a definite soft spot for Brent!

Bring on the meat sweats!

Hey team, we are only 10 days out from what is shaping up to be another epic Waitangi Day!

We wanted to highlight/introduce our event partner KEA Vancouver, who some of your will be very familiar with and others will be standing there giving a slightly confused but equally intrigued...Eh?

Here is a quick description of KEA and their role in bringing ex pats together all over the globe!

Come take photos of us!

So we are all set to go here.
The sponsors are all in, the foods confirmed, the prize packs from home have arrived, the DJ's are sorted and you guys are all coming, but theres one thing we're missing!

We need a photographer!  Someone to walk around and take pics of all the happy smiling people that will be everywhere on the day and document what most are likely to forget!

Now we cant pay you in money but we can pay you in endless showerings of extreeme appreciation, cuddles, one of our cool charity tees maybe even and a beer or two for your time.

We arent asking for said person to be doing this for the whole event we are thinking just for 2-3 hours in the peak of the day and while we are doing fun stuff would be much appreciated.

If you have a camera and would like to help us out or you know someone that would please get in contact with us - vanwaitangiday@gmail.com and let us know about it!

Cheers!

3 weeks to go!

We are just over three weeks out from what is gearing up to be the biggest and baddest Van Waitangi day ever!

The team are all full steam ahead and we have been blown away by the amount of new sponsors and supporters we have this year.  All of them are connected in one way or another to the mother land so we are super happy and excited to have them all on board.  If you want to know who they are (and there are still some to come) then just check out the sponsor logo section on the right ---->
If and where you can, support these awesome companies and people, they all do some great stuff!

We will be plugging each one of them on our Facebook event page over the next couple of weeks and letting you know just what they are bringing to the party...there are some AWESOME prizes this year so you definitely want to be there and make sure you buy some raffle tickets on the day.

We also just want to quickly remind you of our chosen charity for the event, Kiwis for Kiwi.  A great national charity ensuring the survival of our national bird for generations to come...Great people and a great cause!
