The team have been hard at work with the preparations for what is going to be the biggest and best Waitangi day Vancouver has seen!
Once again we will be heading back to Library Square for the 2013 celebration and after a positive meeting with the team there we are set to deliver a great day to the people!
At the moment the team is busy securing sponsors, getting menu items locked in, finalizing our custom 2013 Icebreaker tee designs (very cool stuff coming through) before we put them to a public vote and all the other behind the scenes stuff that make this day a cracker!
Last year we were able to raise over $12,000 NZD for the Bay Of Plenty Care For Our Coast Fund which is all thanks to YOU...the punters who came, bought tees, raffle tickets, drinks and our amazing sponsors! The money has been distributed amongst various charities that are continuing to care for the ecosystem after the Rena Disaster.
This year we want to go even bigger! The official charity for 2013 is Kiwis for Kiwi which has taken over from where the BNZ save the Kiwi Trust left off. Check them out! www.kiwisforkiwi.org The event is primarily a charity fundraising event with 100% of the money raised going to the selected charity...but it is also a great excuse for all the Kiwis, half Kiwis, Quasi Kiwis, Kiwis by association and all their mates to come along and have a few jars...All are welcome!
So come along and be a part of what is probably the biggest Waitangi day celebration in North America!
